Do liberal arts & science colleges limit your career opportunities?

Absolutely not. Liberal arts means that you have to take cles in a wide range of topics so you can be well-rounded. You can get a career just as easily, if not easier then going through a trade school. Although it does sort of depend on your major; people with English majors have a difficult time regardless of where they come from. I am studying environmental economics at a liberal arts school and loving it. The small campus makes it easy to take cles in different departments for my requirements. I take some in poli sci, most in econ, and some in geo science. I never would have discovered economics if not for my liberal arts requirements, nor would I have gotten into science if they hadn't forced me to. They are not for everyone, but definitely don't just write off all liberal arts schools before giving them a chance.

Priced to sell, does this make a difference?

We saw our dream home. Beautiful, remodeled, bank owned home with little-no work to do on it. It states that it is priced to sell and move in ready. My agent looked at the comps and it is priced $70k below what other homes have sold for in that community. We were the second couple to tour and we loved it so much, the agent suggest we offer aggressively by going over the asking price. She suggested $40K plus the bank pay closing cost. We offered $30K over instead and still asked the bank for closing costs. Was this a good decision or poor decision? This is our first time buying a home. We put an offer in on another home awhile back, but that was a short sale and we have heard nothing from them. But this home is bank owned and our realtor said we should hear something by the end of the week. Do you think the strategy used will be effective? or will it work against us?

Worried about my sons mental health?

He is 16 and gets frequent moodswings.He will be one minute happy and talkative and the next he is angry or upset.Just talking to him can cause him to get very angry. He doesnt like people touching him and prefers to be by himself.With friends he is full of jokes and smiley but he has said that he feels that is 'not really him'.He likes to know whats going to happen and it sort of distresses him when it changes, for example if we planned to go out somewhere at the weekend and then it changes at last minute he gets irritated and moody. Ok I'm a 17 year old guy in 11th grade. I seem to have a behavior problem. Not bad but just kinda weird for my age. I like causing disturbances for some reason. Like last time in school before the break me and a friend up went up stairs were the other kids were taken the exams, and we kicked some doors and ran. And today I had banged on a cl door 3 times with a friend and we ran off, it caused a big disturbance I heard the kids in the room before we ran. I don't know if this is the answer you're looking for but there are two ways you can lose heat to the environment. One is conduction - for example, jumping into a swimming pool on a hot day. The water is cool so it cools you off. The other way is convection. This is for example when you get out of a pool and the wind is blowing. That causes you to be cold. You're surrounded by warm air but the wind is causing it to feel cold (like a windchill during the winter). I ume that is what's going on there.

Custody dispute with BPD ex-husband?

I need un-biased opinions on how to handle my situation! My ex-husband and I have been separated since our son was four months old, so almost two years. I’m a pretty laid-back and pive person, I hate drama and confrontations and so I have about zero enemies. Well, my ex may be considered one. I want to be cordial with him. Hell it would be great if we could be friends, that would a wonderful thing in regards to raising our son. Honestly, it would a lot easier to be on good terms with him and dump my hyperactive kid off with him every now and then but that simply cannot be. He is impossible to please. He cannot be reasoned with. No matter how accommodating I am, no matter how casual I try to keep things, he finds some reason or in some cases makes them up, to fight. He takes the baby for a weekend and forgets to return his jacket when he brings him back. I tell him its cool and just bring next weekend. He never shows up and I send him a text asking if was going to bring the jacket that weekend. What I intended was “will you have a chance to bring it this weekend” but he took it completely wrong and I was treated to a torrent of profanity and misspelled insults. Before I could even begin to process what the hell I said to trigger this, his girlfriend (who I didn’t even know about and who’s home my son was staying at when he was with his dad) begins texting me and calling me names and trying to, as she put it, ‘tell me something about myself’. I was too confused and angry at this point to respond with any sort of rational real and it melted into an embarring yelling match over the phone with his girlfriend. And for the past six months this is how it goes. He’ll lose his mind over some incomprehensible insult he perceives and I respond to him suddenly cussing me out with my own foul words, we don’t talk for a few weeks, he apologizes and ask to see his son and I really want him to have a relationship with his father so I let bygones be bygones and we get along for a few weeks until a new drama arises and the cycle repeats. As sure as the sun rises and sets each day, my ex will be reasonable and ‘normal’ then switch gears to hateful and insane. This isn’t the problem so much because my mother is crazy, I can handle crazy fine. What worries me is he has no common sense or good judgment. For example: While in between engagements (I think he’s in his fifth currently) he was roommates with a married couple and their toddler. He tells me about this arrangement so that I would send our son his way but I know him too well and check things out first. It was pretty easy since the wife, the one who would be watching my two year old son while my ex was working, had every social website she had open to the public and what I learned was she was 19, aspired to be a stripper because she enjoyed dancing, had friends over to drink at least a couple of times a week, often slept until after 1PM and in one recent event had the cops at her house when her husband became enraged during a party after finding her in a locked bedroom with another man and chased her with a knife through their house. Lovely, sounds like a peachy place for young children. My at first ex denies any knowledge of the incident despite the fact that SHE HAS PICTURES OF HIM AT THE PARTY ON THE NIGHT THAT HAPPENED ON HER FACEBOOK. He then scolds me for my accusations and insists they are wonderful people. If those are wonderful people I would hate to meet the terrible ones. So fast forward to the present week. We attend a long overdue child support hearing and upon hearing the payment calculation (which by the way is under $350) he starts pouring out anything he believes will at least delay the judgment. The child may not be his, he shouldn’t have to pay so much for a child he hardly sees, and he wants to just wants to sign over his rights and be done with it. Of course, none of this works and he leaves very disappointed. I want him and my son to have a relationship but I want to know my son is safe when he’s with him. I want to send him off for the weekend and not worry that my ex will take off with him and I never see my baby again. I want to have a decent relationship with my child’s father and work together to raise him. I now keep the baby with me because his mental stability is questionable and I have an obligation to protect my son from anyone I feel poses a threat. I’m at a loss. Do I take the moral highroad and continue my attempts with allowing visits and live with the risks? Or do I lay down the law and tell him he’s had enough chances and he can take me to court? I don’t want be the bad guy in this but I don’t know which option that be. And I did not mean to make this so long, sorry!

Miscarriage fears, how can I cope? Has anyone suffered a miscarriage and carried to full term soon after?

I had a miscarriage when I was 8 weeks along ( last year), and am now 11 weeks with this pregnancy. Everything is going good, so far! We were able to see the heartbeat at 7 weeks with an internal ultrasound. I think that, like you, I will worry throughout my entire pregnancy because of my very first experience. It's hard because it should be a time filled with joy, but the worry overcomes that. It's okay, though, and it's natural to have these fears. Just try to relax and hope for the best. I think that if we worry too much, if may have a negative affect on our pregnancies. I wish you the best of luck!!!

yes possible wheel bearing, or have lower ball joints checked, when driving on a straight road (like highway) if you slightly turn wheel left or right...do you hear a low growling/hum noise? if so that is a wheel bearing problem, this may be bad enough that you also hear it when braking, also cheaper aftermarket pads will do this too, and also if a brake caliper is sticking it can groan also. many things to look at...best thing to do is go to a chrysler dealer and most dealerships will send a mechanic out with you for a road test to listen to this noise if you ask them to do so. this will give you a heads up on the problem, good luck.

2002 Ford Explorer V8 "sputtering/Clicking" Engine Noise & oil pressure light says low?

In The Past Few Days I Have Had A "sputtering-almost Clicking" Noise Coming From The Middle Of My Engine. Its Loud When I Start The Vehicle Up In The Morning And As I Press The Acelerator It Generally Goes Anyway Or Stops, Until I Stop (like A Traffic Light) Where It Resumes. Now Today, The Oil Pressure Gauge Drops Out To Low When I Let Off The Accelerator (thus The Check Engine Light Comes On) And Goes Back To High When I Accelerate Again (sometimes). One Incident The Engine Shut Off While I Was Driving After The Oil Pressure Gauge Was On Low One For About 10 Min. After That Occurred It Took About 4 Attempts To Start The Enigne Again (it Didn't Seem To Want To Turn Over). What Is Wrong With My Vehicle, Please Help.

IS MY TODDLER UNDERWEIGHT?

She's turning on 22 months old this coming july 19 and when i checked her weight she's only 19 lbs. Well, first of all, let me say that she was born premature at nearly 36 weeks and plus she's fed (tho she drinks a lil of soy, cow's milk and pediasure, which isn't even really a cup per day, and the rest are milk). My body structure is small, 5'2'' and 100 lbs. and her father is not that big of a guy either. She eats about 4 small meals in a day and twice of little snacks. She's very energetic, just everywhere. Since from the time she was born, she only got sick twice, first, when she had 3 successive shots and they drew out blood from her for lead testing in her blood, in one day. She cried a real lot that time, which I guess gave her a slight fever during the evening. And, the next day, she's back to her well-being. The second time she got sick was when she fell of the chair, bit her lips accidentally which resulted to a canker. That, she had a fever for about 5 days and the canker stayed for quiet a bit more days. Just yesterday, I weighed her and she's 19 lbs. The last time we went for her well-visit (she was 18 months old), she was 18.5. Is she undernourished? I mean, when it comes to eating, she eats vegetables, fruits, whole-grains, dairies, certain beans and beef, and yah, shrimp as well (her all time favorite). She doesn't eat eggs at all and for the chicken, she'll only eat it if it's sweet and sour.

Ok, so I was recently laid off from my job, and I wasn't able to pay my rent this month. I told my apartment complex landlord my situation and she said she can give me extra days to pay for it with the late fees added, but I told her I probably still won't have the amount on time, so she suggested that, she won't take me to court, but I do have 5 days to vacate the complex. Now I'm confused, because I'm not sure if I can pay the complex everything and move back in or my contract is still active or what, I'm also going to the complex tomorrow to straighten everything out. Me and my husband are divorcing but have not filed the papers yet. We have two cars, one is mine and one is his. They are both in his name because he pays insurance on both of them. I've been having lightheadedness, headaches, cold chills and a severely fluctuating temperature. What is it?

Alright, so three days ago I started to notice very brief instances of lightheadedness along with a headache and, later at night, pressure on the back of my eyes(which I ume is from the headache). All these symptoms were mostly gone by the time I went to bed. However, I woke up yesterday and felt the same way with the addition of some cold chills, but my temperature was normal, and in several hours time I felt totally fine. I went out to a movie with some friends, started feeling a bit lightheaded at times along with cold chills, and by the time I got home I had such a sever headache and such intense cold chills I simply collapsed in my bed under the covers and rested for about an hour until my mom got home. She took my temp, and it was 102.1. I took some ibuprofen and an extra strength Tylenol, and in several hours time I was feeling much better with the exception of the occasional cold chill, a much less brutal headache, and the occasional spell of lightheadedness. An hour after that first reading my temperature was 101, and an hour or two after that reading it had jumped down to 97.4. My sleep was quite inadequate, and I woke up numerous times during the night with minor cold chills. By morning I felt much better with the exception of the lightheadedness, and this trend has continued throughout the day. My headache is gone, and the only symptoms I have left are the lightheadedness and a temperature of 100, which by the way jumped up from a temperature of 98.8 from around noon today. My appetite never faltered, nor has my strength. I haven't been more noticeably tired apart from the major lack of sleep I got last night. My mom, a chemotherapy nurse, thinks it's probably just some little bug, but the constant fluctuation of feeling better and worse throughout the past three days along with the major fluctuations in temperature ranging from normal to 102.1 in no particular order is a bit puzzling and, quite frankly is extremely frustrating. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I will genuinely appreciate any feedback anybody has to offer. Again, thank you.

Trusting a girl that parties.?

I recently starting rekindling things with my ex. We were together 18 months almost to the day when we broke up and now two months later she's back in the picture. Now she likes to drink and party with her friends at on the weekends where there are a bunch of guys present. She's extremely attractive and the worst part about it is she's aware of it. Hello,Im 18,and I was just wondering if it is safe to get hair extensions after chemotherapy. It has been about 4 months and my hair is about 4 inches or longer, they are all different lengths. I am moving them out of the trash and sending them to my inbox before Yahoo empties my Trash folder, so I can look through them before approving. I really hate my new haircut!!! please help me?

I used to have long thick hair, all the same length, down to my elbows. Then my sister forced me into getting it cut so it was just past my shoulders, and layered. I hated this, so I went to a different salon and asked them to 'shape it' a bit more, and they cut my layers really short so it's too thin at the bottom and gave me a terrible thin side fringe that went all greasy. I tried thickening my side fringe myself at home, but I did it wrong and now it looks terrible!! I know I could poof it on top of my head but my forehead is all spotty (so is the rest of my face). Whenever I naturally dry my hair it looks AWFUL. I'm scared of damaging it so I use a heat protection spray and a low setting whenever I blow dry (which is every other day). Will that protect it? And what shall I do about my weird fringe? I keep crying and am so depressed. It's so awful, I never used to worry about my hair before I cut it! Also I'm so unpopular at this new school, the one thing people really used to envy was my hair! I'm nearly 14 and in year 9, and practically all the girls in my cl are such show-offs. Friend in coma- help me with what to do...?

This is a very sad situation. Your friend has a traumatic brain injury (TBI) & a spinal cord injury (SCI). He is no longer in a coma, but obviously has some significant deficits from his injuries. It is very hard to know how much he will recover, but it doesn't sound at all optimistic. It is common for people to be transferred to either a rehablitation hospital or a nursing home for rehab. I have severe allergies...any natural remedies?

I have found that the best remedy for allergies is using the Neti Pot. Basically it is a pot that looks like a jeenie lamp and you put saline salt and salt water in it and you pour the water through one nostril and it comes out of the other. It sounds reaaallly gross but it really works!!! It works even better than antihistamines in my opinion. It is the perfect solution because it cleans your nose of the pollen that is making you sick.

I'm going to Busch Gardens Tampa in a week and was thinking. I was planning on wearing some sneakers to the park because i would be walking all day. However I went to a theme park before in flip-flops and aside from the "flip-flop tan" everything was good. So i don't know what shoes to wear. Also keep in mind that there are a few water rides where my feet will most likely get wet, and that's why i am rethinking the sneakers. Cause who wants stinky wet feet all day? A question about ham antenna baluns?

I am running 100 watts (max) out of an old kenwood. I run 50 ohm RG-58/U from the transceiver to the antenna. The antenna is a G5RV Jr. dipole, it is mounted in a horizontal inverted-V pattern in my backyard up at about 25 feet. Because the G5RV Jr. is pre-made it has already hooked up to it, about 20 feet of some balanced line (it has a twin-lead style and doesnt appear to be a ladder line type of feedline) After the 20 feet this terminates into a (female) SO-239 plug. That is where i plug the unbalanced RG-58/U coax into the connection. I put up a 1:1 choke balun to help keep common mode currents at bay but obviously my SWR is HORRIBLE! I am running the internal antenna tuner (to keep the SWR from destroying my transceiver) in the kenwood and because of the high SWR i never run over 50 watts (even at 50 its a bad idea). Now despite all the reflected power i have been able to make some contacts (im in Machusetts and was able to hit new Hampshire, new jeresey and georgia) but those might be flukes! without a doubt i need to bring down my SWR, so my question is what should i do? should i put a step up balun in place of the choke balun? if so, what impedance step up is needed? (2:1, 4:1, etc).......so what should i do? i dont want to run the transceiver until i get this fixed

Recently, I have been having some odd symptoms that have me confused. I have looked online to try and get an idea of what it could be but I have been unsuccessful. The symptoms that I have been experiencing are: involuntary twitching or ticks of the muscles around my mouth when I'm talking (it's not all the time but happens at least once a week), the twitching of my mouth is accompanied by minor vocal abnormalities (as if my voice is twitching too--will make short sounds like 'eh'), little muscle twitches or spasms in various other parts of my body (mainly in my shoulders, upper arms, and thigh area), ticks at the base of my head or in my neck (these make my head jerk suddenly back or to the sides slightly). I believe I was anywhere between the ages of 11 and 13 when these symptoms started. I am 20, almost 21, now. When they first started, I only noticed the spasms around my mouth when I was reading a book aloud or something and it was rare. It only happened once or twice in a year--not really enough for me to notice but enough to be annoying. Over the years, I've noticed there are more symptoms present and they are more frequent. They have gotten especially worse here recently with an increase in stress (I'm in college). When the symptoms first started, though (and any other time except recently), I wasn't stressed at all. I have not mentioned any of this to a doctor yet because it hasn't bothered me or concerned me until now. I realize I have a lot of information here but does anyone have any suggestions as to what this could be or what I should do/say when I talk to a doctor about it?

Dangerously high heart-rate while excercising?

Hello! I am a teenager and was working out at Lifetime this morning. I started off with the eliptical, and worked at it for 30 mintues with 1-minute sprints every ten minutes. But I noticed during the usual pace, my heart rate ran around 186 to 195, and during sprints it peaked to 201. Is this unhealthy, or even dangerous? What can I do to reduce it, but still push myself?

Cause of hand tremors?

Since Tuesday I have experienced hand tremors. They stop (or I think they stop) when my hands are active. But when I try to hold a fork/pen or when they are at rest it gets uncontrollable. On top of this there is a tingly and numbness from above my elbow to my hands. The same sensation is felt above my forehead- and that also has a very weird spacey feeling. I even became dizzy, had some headaches, had a hard time saying words and lost balance.One doctor told me it was a panic attack- but failed to provide any testing not even using his stethoscope (this was a trip to the emergency room because I became very nervous). another suggested in depth testing. Since Im uninsured I dont want to spend any money on anything unnecessary. The tremors are becoming very annoying and would like to know how to stop them. Am I being paranoid?? Okay, so for three years I dated a guy. We first met when I was only 15 and he was my first true love. For 2 years, we were in a long distance relationship. eventide / dissension sets had some great R/U cards. red and blue mixed is good for a couple of things. 1 - burn up everything in front of you and have the resources to continue. 2 - take control of your opponent's cards, sometimes permanently (my personal fave). in 1 you get your cards like that one red mana for three damage instant and if you can find some of the 'izzet' guild cards from dissension your instants and sorceries will really work well. brainstorm can help you get some choice cards out sooner. there's a card called 'dominus of fealty' (i think, i know its got fealty in it, its in the eventide set) its a wicked creature card that lets you take control of target permanent at the beginning of your turn until end of turn. if you were to have a card that lets you sacrifice creatures or w/e, you could use whatever you just stole and sacrifice it at the end. oh and noggle bandits are 2/2 unblockables so i guess you could attack an enchantment like 'ophidian eye' and draw a card everytime you get your opponent with him. R/U to me is about making options for yourself quickly. Crackleburr is one of my favorite cards btw. thats all i got for a combo -_-

Why do I keep getting disconnected from the internet right after logging in to Second Life?

I log in to Second Life and it loads everything (environment & avatar) just fine, but I cannot move or teleport anywhere. My internet has disconnected and refuses to reconnect while I have SL running, I have to exit out of the game before I can reconnect and that takes a couple minutes.This never happens with any of my other online games nor does it ever happen while surfing the web. Why does this ONLY happen right after I log in to SL? Please serious answers only. I have invested a years worth into this game and spent a ton of money on it.

Some questions about my Firebird?

Well I've had my Firebird a few years now and there are some things I just can't put my finger on. Like the alternator is marked 1995 Firebird and so is the radio. The radio is an aftermarket Sony Xplod but I was wondering why they were marked. It is a '95 so the question isn't about that. Perhaps the most questionable is the center console, I took it all apart one day and it was marked April 6 1993, now that's 2 years before it was made so I'm just wondering. Hi, my cat is a little over one year old. and I recently noticed her getting bigger. I probably would have noticed it sooner but I was working really long hours and went to bed as soon as I got home. So she is really big, belly is very firm and she has been eating ALOT. I have cut down the sizes and increased the feedings. I have not noticed her nesting yet, but she may have during the day. I have been feeling the kittens kicking and moving for almost 2 weeks now, they are moving alot now!! there isnt a time when I lay my hand on her stomach that there isnt movement. and I also started to see the babys move. It probably would have been sooner that the movement could be seen but she is a VERRRRRYYYY fluffy kitty. so my question is does anyone know how close she is to giving birth? I hope I included everything. also I would like to add, that we were intending on getting her spayed within these months but she has snuck outside when my children were playing a couple of times.
