Crush Catastrophe!!!?

Okay so i have this major crush on a guy at school, well the only catch is he has a girlfriend. Oh joy right!? Anyways my friend, or at least who i thought was my friend thought it would be funny to tell the teacher that i liked someone in the cl. Then to add to that she told this other guy who is madly in love with me practically who the guy i liked was. So now i'm publicly humiliated and before this i could if i wanted to could openly talk to the guy and now he is kinda awkward around me and i'm scared to even attempt to talk with hiim. What can i do to try to fix things between us???!!!
