How to make soft chewy cookies?

I always cook mine for the least amount of time. If it says, cook 9-12 mins, I will cook for 9 mins, leave on the pan for a couple of mins after taking out of the oven, than I will put them on wax paper to cool. They may look a little doughy, but when it's all done, they will be fine & delicious!
