Which came first- metahumans or mutants? Which one seems like a rip-off of the other?

both are not rip-offs but probably mirrored each other on their respective universe... in the early 40s, Superman had been fighting super powered creatures though not called metas until 1986, in Marvel, a WEIRD WOMAN said she was a mutant seeking super powered mate, was published in March 1952. but the earliest modern age mutant emerged by 1963 in X-Men.
