Can you get retroactive child support after 13 yrs in ohio?
I am finally going after child support after 13 yrs, my daughters father lives in a different state and has always had an open door to come visit or call, but chooses not to, he hasnt ever shown any interest in her, and has known about her since the begging, ( even sent her a fathers day card when she was 4 ) child support papers were filed 7 yrs ago when he called and begged not to do this and that he would pay on the side, he sent 100 a month for about 6 months then stopped, stopped answering the phone too, so i just dropped it , better no dad then a head ache, i have never been on any kind of govmt istance, her and i get along fine. couple months ago he called out of the blue, didnt ask anything about her , after a couple times talking i asked him if he would help with her money for braces, lets just say that the response was less than desirable, i later snd him an an email stating that i wasnt asking for much just help with the braces and that was all and it would be easier to pay 50 a month for 2 years then it was to pay for child support, once again less than desireable response, so i sent the paper work in to start child support, question now isnt out of bitterness just would like to now if i can get it retroactive for the past 13 yrs that he has known about her and never done anything for her. it would just be nice to be able to set that money aside for her college so she doesnt have to struggle as much as i have paying back student loans
