Know nothing about computers, help me protect myself

I discovered that someone tried to give me a fake IP addy to go to through one of my websites. I have found out that the attacker is from a couple of different places. I do not know too much about computers. How do I pin point the real location of this person/people? How can I find their email addy, or name? Also, how do I take my IP addy away from them, or find out if they have it?
